The Manila legs of the Sante Barley Trilogy Run Asia 2025, held at the sprawling SM Mall of Asia Complex, have been nothing short of spectacular. Thousands of eager runners, from seasoned marathoners to enthusiastic beginners, flocked to the starting line, embodying the series' inspiring mantra to "Live for More."
Leg 1 in Manila (March 16, 2025) kicked off the 15th-year celebration of this famed Runrio-organized series with an incredible turnout of over 11,600 participants. The 16K race, a new distance for this leg, saw impressive performances. Edsel Moral, reigning champion of last year's National Finals, continued his dominance, clocking an impressive 52 minutes and 35 seconds in the men's 16K. Not to be outdone, national triathlon team member Erika Nicole Burgos showcased her prowess, topping the women's 16K division with a time of 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 33 seconds. The 10K and 5K categories also witnessed fierce competition and inspiring finishes, setting a high bar for the rest of the series.
Leg 2 in Manila (May 18, 2025) continued the momentum with another fantastic turnout of over 11,000 runners. The 21K race took center stage, with Richard Salaño securing a thrilling victory in the men's division, finishing just three seconds ahead of Eduard Flores with a time of 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 44 seconds. Erika Nicole Burgos once again demonstrated her formidable talent, dominating the women's 21K with a time of 1 hour, 28 minutes, and 45 seconds. Even the shorter distances saw incredible displays of speed and determination, proving that the Sante Barley Trilogy Run Asia truly caters to all levels of runners.
Runrio President and CEO Rio de la Cruz expressed immense satisfaction with the turnout, noting the clear progression of runners and the growing participation in longer distances. Cebu, Get Ready to Run!
